I feel sad
for Mother Oak
looking so thin
after shedding
all those leaves.
Surely she’s grieving
after so much loss.
Standing tall
she winks at me,
and says,
“There’s freedom
in letting go.”
My breathing slows
and I’m in touch
with a spaciousness
inside of me.
Finally, I nod
and respond,
“I know.
I know.”
Together we stand
and share the joy.
