Who Am I Really?

Who am I?

What does my driver’s license say: gender, eye and hair color, height and weight? (How honest is the latter?)

How do I present myself? What do I wear? (This one’s easy – no one has ever called me fashionable!)

What is the context in which I live? How do I spend my time and money? Who do I hang out with?

What roles do I play? What titles do I hold?

How did I become the person I am?

Where did I grow up? What is my family background? How was I educated?

Which opportunities were open to me? Which weren’t?

Who do others (especially family and long-time friends) think I am? How do I fulfill outdated expectations?

What are the old programs and patterns that continue to show up in me?

Who am I really?

Who am I when I let go of all of the above? (Of course, this is the work of a lifetime!)

Does this ongoing process make a difference in our broken world?

I want to trust that it does.

Who are you? How did you become the person you are? Who are you really? What do you want to trust?
